Wolfsburg beats Besiktas 3-0 in Champions League
ISTANBUL (AP) Wolfsburg stayed on track to reach the knockout round in the Champions League on Tuesday by beating Besiktas 3-0.
Zvjezdan Misimovic scored with a powerful drive in the 14th minute that left goalkeeper Hakan Arikan helpless. Wolfsburg's second goal came from midfielder Christian Gentner in the 80th minute, and Edin Dzeko scored a third with three minutes remaining.
The German champions are in second place in Group B with seven points, three behind Manchester United, which drew 3-3 with CSKA Moscow to advance to the next stage with two rounds still remaining. CSKA has four points.
Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh replaced the suspended Grafite with striker Obafemi Martins. Grafite was sent off in the 0-0 home draw with Besiktas two weeks ago.
Besiktas, which has never beaten a German team in European competition, squandered several chances to score on Tuesday.
