Scouting Report
While Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III will almost certainly be one of the top two picks in the draft, his favorite target seems likely to be selected before the end of the first round. Wright was a first-team All-American as a senior in 2011, catching 108 passes for 1,663 yards and 14 TDs. He leaves Baylor as the school's all-time leader in receptions (302), receiving yards (4,004) and receiving touchdowns (30). He has excellent hands, runs routes well and is proficient at adjusting to the ball while it's in the air. He doesn't have great size, but isn't afraid to run across the middle of the field and is a tremendous leaper. Wright, who played on the Baylor basketball team as a freshman in 2008-09, recorded a 38.5-inch vertical leap at the scouting combine, tied for seventh-best among wide receivers. He displayed stellar quickness and speed in college, but had a disappointing showing in the 40-yard dash, running 4.61 seconds at the combine. Although he was expected to run in the 4.4s or possibly faster, Wright's draft stock isn't expected to drop. Though Wright can sometimes get jammed at the line of scrimmage and isn't a particularly strong blocker, his ability to blow by defensive backs makes him one of the top deep-threat receivers in the draft.
