Iowa State Cyclones at Oklahoma State Cowboys

  1. Oklahoma State has lost three of its last four games against Iowa State, including a 37-10 road defeat in 2005 in the teams' most recent meeting.
  2. The Cowboys allowed five sacks in Saturday's loss to Texas, the same number they had allowed in the season's first seven games combined.
  3. Despite the loss, the Cowboys enter the Iowa State tilt with their best record after eight games since 2003 when OSU was also 7-1. OSU has started a season 7-1 five times. Only once, in 1945, has OSU had a better record after eight games. In 1945, the Cowboys were 9-0 for the season.
  4. The Cowboys boast one of the top offenses in the nation, ranking seventh in scoring at 43.6 points per game and eighth in total offense at 490.8 yards per game. They'll be taking on a defense that's 102nd in the country in points allowed (31.6 per game) and total defense (422.8 ypg).
  5. The Cyclones have lost six straight games, but that streak includes a two-point loss vs. Kansas and an overtime loss to UNLV.
  6. Kendall Hunter's 161 rushing yards Saturday were the most by a Texas opponent in nearly three years (Mike Hamilton, Oklahoma State -- 194 yards on Oct. 29, 2005). Hunter leads the Big 12 and ranks fourth nationally with 139.5 yards per game.
